Kamome Japanese Restaurant

We're terribly sorry to report, but this venue has now closed down.

A quality Japanese restaurant upstairs at The Conservatory in the Cairns CBD. With daily lunch specials this restaurant is popular with locals and visiting Japanese alike. Friendly wait staff and a good selection of Japanese beverages including Asahi, Sapporo, Umeshu and Sake. A good location for a business lunch.

Unpretentious restaurant, near the waterfront. Reasonable and well priced lunch menu accompanied with a small but passable wine and beer list. We both chose the business bento box and a bottle of white wine. A few of the diners were Japanese giving a feeling that it did not totally cater for the tourist. The restaurant is fully enclosed, thereby air conditioned. This is place for a convienent lunch or dinner but not really for a high end or intimate night out.

We recently had a birthday party here with their unlimited food and alcohol for 2 hours deal (Which was $30 per person) and karaoke! Even the shiest boys in our group got into the karaoke in our private bar. Be wary of the sake though, unlimited alcohol while sitting down can have legless repercussions (hey Rob!). Overall a great night with a good atmosphere.
