Visiting Cairns from Sydney, we were told that this place was great. It was terrible. They over charged us for drinks we did not have and the food was way under decent. Go to the Thia Pan!!

This recently opened restaurant is now a favourite of all the staff in my office.
Service is quick and friendly and they have a lunch special with a lot of choices each day. There are traditional Thai dishes such as green curry and also some that you would see in a Chinese resturant - sweet and sour chicken.
Beware:if you don't know the place and don't ask for medium or mild, they automatically make the curries HOT!
The only down side is that at lunch as they're trying to give everyone quick service, meals do not come together and can be a little cool when served, but this does not detract greatly from the atmosphere and overall quality of the restaurant.
