Welcome to the inaugural Cairns Dining Newsletter.
The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you informed of any changes
occurring to the website: restaurant additions, new dining reviews, new
dining articles, and any special promotions or deals we can offer. This
newsletter will enhance the benefits you receive from the Cairns
Dining website – and the best part of all is it’s free!
Cairns Dining is a valuable resource created for locals and visitors
to the Tropical North by the local web development firm, cityofcairns.com.
In addition to being website designers, we are avid diners and have been
looking for a directory that assists us in making a choice about the types
of restaurants we want to visit. Usually, this decision is made in haste
when we decide that eating out is preferable to baked beans on toast after
a hard day in front of a computer. But a quick search through our comprehensive
database (the only one of its kind we can find in Australia) provides
us with the answers we are looking for – location, food type, price
bracket, and sometimes even a review that sheds personal insight on the
nuances of a restaurant. Since the inception of Cairns Dining, we haven’t
needed to open a single can of baked beans!
Included in this newsletter are brief descriptions about our most recent
restaurant reviews and new articles
about dining in Cairns. Our articles are general topic discussions ranging
from dining etiquette to Italian
culinary terminology. We provide links to the full versions of all
our content, so nothing is more than a mouse click away.

Cairns Dining now has an extensive listing of restaurants throughout Tropical
North Queensland located near accommodation, called nearby
accom. This service is particularly useful for visitors to the region
who are seeking a restaurant they can walk to from their hotel or motel,
or take a short taxi ride.
Dining Reviews
This week Cairns Dining visited the newest Japanese restaurant in Cairns,
Sushi Zipang. We found it was a culmination of
all the distinctive types of Japanese restaurants – sushi conveyer
belt, open kitchen with a skilful chef displaying culinary talents, and

Dining Articles
In our articles section, we provide helpful tips on a frustrating part
of dining at some restaurants – getting
the attention of waiters and waitresses. Dining at a busy restaurant
sometimes means you have to sacrifice your expectations of great service,
but this needn’t always be the case. Follow our guide and you’ll
be assured of satisfactory service every time.
