I live in Holloways beach ((yes i know , lucky huh?)) and have had the chance to eat there a few times.. the location in top notch, right on the waterfront , no matter the weather its stunning, the furnishings are very tropical and unique, which adds to the atmosphere, and as for the food, well its fabulous. always very tasty and large servings... but as for their customer service, well that leaves alot to be desired.. the young girls there obviously dont want to b there and are working simply coz they have to, and they senior staff dont exactly lead by example.. so my suggestion would b to stick with the take-away and go onto the beach itself and have a picnic as there is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable while u are trying to enjoy a meal... but like i sed.. the food is gr8..

I'd go to Far North Queensland just o have breakie here.. food was great and reasonably priced, service was spot on.
Since I like the place to myself, and enjoy reading the paper, please dont come here as it never seems to get crowded and I'd like to keep it that way. Mind you last time I was there it looked like the secret was out : )

The setting for this cafe is amazing, the dining area set out beautifully.
The breakfast meals are of a reasonable price.
Unfortunatly most of the food is precooked and left to stay warm on the grill plate, this was not the worst part.
The chef was also waitressing and made a mistake with our order.
Had she been polite the expreience would have been nice but all i can say politely was that she was disgustingly rude to my friends and i.
I do not reccommend this cafe until they review their customer relations.

We visited Strait on the Beach last weekend whilst staying over the road at Cairns Beach Resort.
The cafe is right on the beach and tables and chairs are made from tops of trees and driftwood that has been sanded and polished. Very unusual.
My son had the bacon & eggs with fried tomatoe and toast which was a generous serving. I had rasin toast and a latte which was very good.
However the setting steals the show as you are looking out over the beach and the water right on the sand. I understand they are also open for lunch and early dinner and they had a bar so they must be licenced as well. They also have petrol and general supplies as well, so they are handy.
We will breakfast there again on our next trip in a few weeks.
